Ever wondered why the Simpsons are yellow? If you’ve got a question for Matt Groening or Lynda Barry, now’s your chance to ask!
Cartoonist genius Matt Groening will spill the Duff from The Simpsons to Futurama in conversation with “his biggest inspiration”, the seminal cartoonist/writer and Eisner Hall of Famer, Lynda Barry.
Approx run time 90 minutes.
“One of the great things about doing this is that it’s not a canned performance. We are in the moment, there’s verbal fisticuffs on stage, we give each other a hard time.'
Matt Groening talking about Love, Hate and Comics.
The Simpsons creator Matt Groening joins his lifelong friend, the legendary Eisner Hall of Famer Lynda Barry for their ONLY APPEARANCE in Australia.
Groening forever changed popular culture by drawing a fictional family that has become the longest running US primetime television series ever.
Barry is the inimitable (and exceptionally entertaining) creator behind the seminal comic strip Ernie Pook's Comeek, featuring the incomparable Marlys and Freddy. She has written two bestselling and acclaimed creative how-to graphic novels for Drawn & Quarterly, What It Is which won the Eisner Award for Best Reality Based Graphic Novel and R.R. Donnelly Award for highest literary achievement; and Picture This.
Now bringing their 40-year collection of cartoon tales to the Sydney Opera House, GRAPHIC welcomes two titans of the illustrated world to Australia.
